IKehila Heschel School’s administration and faculty are part of a dynamic and innovative team of professionals who are dedicated to encouraging their students’ love of learning as they develop academically and personally. Our faculty work together in providing a warm and welcoming kehila-environment for our students and their families.

  • Anita Bernstein

    HEAD OF SCHOOL

    Morah Anita is an educator with more than 30 years of experience and has been involved with Kehila Heschel since its inception as a member of the Founding Board of Directors. In 2018 she stepped in as Director of Education to oversee the incorporation of the Heschel Educational Philosophy with the original Kehila curriculum.

  • Zehava Chaimovitz

    HEBREW & JUDAICA LEAD TEACHER

    Morah Zehava has been teaching at Kehila since the year 2000 just after Kehila’s inception. Zehava brings to Kehila Heschel her background as a native Israeli, and over thirty years teaching in Hebrew school in Canada. Zehava was the recipient of the 2018 Greenspoon Award for Excellence in Education

  • Catherine Silverglen

    GENERAL STUDIES TEACHER

    Morah Catherine joined the Kehila Heschel team in 2020. She is an experienced educator who has taught at the Six Nations schools in Brantford and in Peel. She brings to her teaching a background as a professional performer in Drama and Music.

  • Julie Kuipers

    OUTDOOR EDUCATION

    Morah Julie leads our Outdoor education/Ecoschool program. Julie has over 10 years experience as an educator with the Public Board system. She brings to her teaching a love of nature and the outdoors. She helps her students slow down and notice the natural world around them and what it can teach them.

  • Linda Geva

    LEAD GENERAL STUDIES TEACHER

    Morah Linda, was the recipient of the 2020 Greenspoon Award for Excellence in Education. She is an experienced educator who taught in South Africa and Israel before joining the Kehila Heschel team in 2002. Linda is the lead general studies teacher who welcomes and introduces our youngest students to the Kehila Heschel experience.

  • Michele Schneider

    OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

    Michele has been at Kehila since 2012 and brings years of experience to her position from her previous work at the Hamilton JCC and Temple Playhouse. Michele has a wide portfolio – a few of her roles include office administration, teacher support and nurse/bandaid provider.

  • Mical Asulin

    HEBREW JUDAICA KINDERGARTEN TEACHER

    Morah Mical joined the Kehila Heschel team this year. Mical is a native Israeli who brings to her teaching the enthusiasm and energy needed to encourage our youngest students to learn to communicate in Hebrew.

  • Tracey Lewis

    FRENCH AND ART SPECIALIST

    Morah Tracey joined the Kehila Heschel team in 2019. She brings to her position 15 years as an educator who has taught French and Art in public and private schools. She is a practicing artist who infuses her teaching with a love of art and design.

  • Rosie Sela

    HEBREW/JUDAICA RESOURCE SUPPORT

    Morah Rosie joined the Kehila Heschel team this year. Rosie has been in the education field in Jewish Day school for 15 years in Montreal and Israel. Rosie has quickly blended into our ‘kehila’ with both our students and faculty.
